Search intelligence

What you see

Your usual place
Your best unpaid position on each keyword, as the median (the middle value) across cities, and then city by city.

Keyword gaps
Keywords of your category where other brands made the first ten and your products did not.
Keywords worth trying
Each keyword of your categories, set by how crowded its first ten is (open, contested or crowded, against the app’s other keywords) beside its signs of demand: brands holding paid slots on it, head or long tail, and searches the app could not fill. With your usual place and the first five brands’ places on each.
Your brand name
Which products come up, and whose, when a shopper types your brand.
Rank and ads, on one grid
Where you usually sit in the first three unpaid results, and where an ad showed up on the same keyword, side by side.

Method

How we read it

  1. 1

    Keywords, by kind of product

Plain product words, brand names, a brand with a product, and needs. Each keyword is filed under one kind of product, so a rank can be read category by category.

  2. 2

Typed at stores across the country

Each keyword is typed at the delivery area of a city’s central dark stores, city by city.

  3. 3

    Counted over many searches

A rank is the usual place over many searches, never one search at one moment. Paid results are counted apart from unpaid ones.

Questions about search intelligence

What is share of search?

Of all the unpaid first-ten slots across the searches for a keyword, the fraction a brand’s products held. It is counted one app at a time and never added across apps.

How is rank measured when results change all the time?

By counting many searches. Each keyword is typed in many cities, and the rank shown is the usual place over those searches, with the city-by-city places under it.

Which apps does search intelligence cover?

Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, BigBasket, Flipkart Minutes, Amazon Now and JioMart.

Are paid results counted in my rank?

No. A result the app marks as paid is counted apart. Your rank is your place among the unpaid results, and the ads on the same keyword are shown beside it.

How do I find low-competition keywords?

With the keyword finder. It lists the keywords of your categories on an app and marks each open, contested or crowded against the app’s other keywords, from how much of the first ten the leading brands hold and how many brands held paid slots on it. Beside each are its signs of demand, your usual place and the first five brands’ places. No app publishes how often a word is searched, so no search volume is shown.

Can I see where rivals rank on each keyword?

Yes, on Pro: every keyword in the finder names its first five brands with their usual place, and a rival’s whole keyword list sits against yours. Free shows the first keywords, and your own counts.

Can I add my own keywords?

You can ask for a word in the product, and we will reply. Each keyword is typed in every city, so new words join one shared list.

How fresh is it?

Every store on the apps we read is read again every day (JioMart and Amazon Now twice a day), and every read is kept as history. Pro is refreshed every day, and every hour in your target cities once set up. Free is refreshed every week.

Which plan shows a rival’s search rank?

Pro (₹29,999 a month, GST included): your own rank on every keyword, and every rival’s keywords in full. Free shows your own counts and a rival’s totals.
