When we give the money back

There is no trial of the paid plans, so the first payment is how you find out whether Shelf is worth it to you. The seven days are there for that.

The short version

  • On your first plan: tell us within seven days of paying and we refund it in full. You do not have to say why.
  • Nothing is charged again unless you turned on autopay; stop it any time from your account page.
  • Cancelling takes effect at once, stops autopay if it is on, and you keep access to the end of the term you paid for.
  • A refund goes back the way the payment came, usually within five to seven working days.

Seven days on your first plan

The first time you pay for a plan, if it is not what you expected, tell us within seven days of the payment and we refund it in full. You do not have to justify it.

Write to support@seetheshelf.com from the address the plan is on. We aim to start the refund the same working day. The refund is the whole amount you paid, GST included.

Why the first plan only

A later payment is made knowing what you get. It is not refunded for a change of mind, and the two rules below still cover it.

After seven days

End a yearly plan mid-term and we refund the unused whole months. A 30-day plan runs to the end of the 30 days you paid for.

Cancelling

There is a cancel control on your account page, and it takes effect at once. You keep access to the end of the term you already paid for, and nothing you have saved is deleted.

Nothing is charged again unless you turned on autopay when you paid. If you did, the account page says when the next charge is, with Stop autopay beside it: press it and nothing more is charged, and the month already paid runs to its end. Cancelling stops autopay too. Without autopay, each term is a payment you make yourself, so cancelling stops no charge: it records that you are done, and stops the reminder that a term is about to end.

If we break a promise

If the status page shows we failed to collect for more than half a billing period, or a published figure turns out to be defined differently from How we read the apps, we refund the term. That refund is ours to offer, not yours to ask for.

The one case we do not refund

Bulk export that clearly republished our dataset in breach of the terms. In that case we end the account and keep the term, and we tell you exactly what we saw.

How a refund reaches you

A refund goes back through Razorpay to the card, UPI id or bank account the payment came from. It usually arrives within five to seven working days of our starting it. The bank decides the last part of that.

A payment from outside India is refunded through Dodo Payments, our merchant of record there, to the card or account it was paid with, usually within five to ten working days. A bank transfer we agreed with a company goes back to the account it was sent from.
